The Veteran’s Garage automotive mechanics courses cover various phases and segments of auto mechanics leading up to certification and state licensing. The classes are open to Veterans and civilian community members that are interested in furthering their skills in auto mechanics. The Fall 2019 session will begin with an Introduction to automotive technology; auto lab safety; automotive careers; career success; vehicle maintenance; fluid service and recycling; and vehicle safety inspections. It will then focus on preparation for certification in Brake system technology; brake system diagnosis, service and repair; Anti-lock brakes; and traction control. The course will conclude with an introduction into suspension and steering. Proper automotive work place attire (closed toed shoes, full length pants, no nylon clothing). Safety glasses are required and will be provided. General safe shop conduct is expected. Space is limited in each course.
